Staying Grounded
With our convenient modern lives we are subjected to more electronic stimulus and less nature stimulus than ever before. If you think this has a negative affect on your overall health you are correct. Studies are showing that standing, or sitting barefoot in direct contact with the ground has beneficial results in how well we sleep and a reduction of pain. Another study cited below goes even further to validate how important it is for we humans to keep and nurture our connection with Mother Nature and our beautiful planet Earth.
An Earthing (grounding) study conducted by Chevalier G, Sinatra ST, Oschman JL, and Delany RM from the Developmental and Cell Biology Department, University of California at Irvine , Irvine, CA shows the following
“Emerging research is revealing that direct physical contact of the human body with the surface of the earth (grounding or earthing) has intriguing effects on human physiology and health, including beneficial effects on various cardiovascular risk factors. Conclusions: Grounding increases the surface charge on RBCs and thereby reduces blood viscosity and clumping. Grounding appears to be one of the simplest and yet most profound interventions for helping reduce cardiovascular risk and cardiovascular events.”
As if that were not incentive enough, it is also a great way to start the day!
